In addition to visiting the historical streets of Hanoi, there are many traditional villages that have maintained their customs through generations, and you can experience the warm and friendly culture of the area by tasting essential Vietnamese foods and talking to local artists showing their works of art.

Tour Itinerary

Duration: 7-8 hours.

Morning

  • 8:00: We will pick you up from your hotel in the Old Quarter. Then go to the Temple of Literature, also known as Quoc Tu Giam, to view the first university of Vietnam. It was originally a school for princes and royal descendants but eventually changed into a school for high-achieving commoners.
  • Keep going until you reach the One Pillar pagoda, an important landmark for the people of Hanoi. Visitors to the pagoda can view the surrounding terrain, related with historical imagery as if transporting us to a heroic past to commemorate and be grateful for their outstanding merit.
  • The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is not far away, where you can learn more about President Ho Chi Minh and see his house on stilts. 
  • NOTE: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museums is closed on Monday and Friday, so there will be other alternative options if you depart on Monday and Friday
  • Lunch at a restaurant serving traditional Vietnamese cuisine, we hope it meets your taste!

Afternoon

  • Visit the Museum of Ethnology- a one-of-a-kind museum devoted to Vietnam’s 54 officially recognized ethnic groups. In this museum, you will have an opportunity to view artifacts, films, and photographs that describe the daily lives, costumes, clothing, and farming implements with customs, habits of many ethnic minorities around Vietnam (Tourists can choose to visit Hoa Lo Prision- Ha Noi Hilton instead of Museum of Ethnology)
  • Returning to Hanoi’s Old Quarter, it’s time to say bye to our guide. 
  • Optional: You can choose a one-hour cyclo tour or a water puppet show.
  • Our tour will end around 16:30, and get dropped off at your hotel.
